Writing, Running, & Restarting

Crossing the starting line

/

Every race, every season, every concert starts anew. So does my blogging journey. There was all the worry about planning (minus any execution there), and there is all the adrenaline rush you get on race day morning (minus the early wake up call).

The things I did not do to prepare for this moment:

  1. Put out a flat me

    - design my blog

  2. Run my training plan miles

    - Write any practice blogs

  3. Math out water and fuel needs

    - figure out scheduling

  4. Make sure my watch and headphones are charged

    - Maybe I did this, my laptop is plugged in...

  5. track down my bib boards

    - bib # = tracking which equals followers

    - yeah, that makes sense!

This is not a fresh start. I am not interested in square 1 or being 0-0. I just want to go. I want to write, because that is the next step in the bigger life journey for me. It is not about a beginning at all. This is also not picking up where I left off. The internet was so different the last time around, and without Google Reader, I have to do things differently. Which is how I ended up at a newsletter site.

The goal is to build this blog up into one post a day. Sending out a summary newsletter each week and then do something "big" and silly once a month. I'll write about running, music, sports, and other random things. My hope is to inform and entertain, to share myself in ways I felt I was not able to in the past. The goal is to write consistently so that I can build and audience and write bigger things.

Without even stretching, I am off and writing, hoping that I can do this at the pace I want to.

Thanks for reading,

-Philip
